This is the remedy for hopelessness and resignation after a long struggle. This state is often experienced by people with long-term disabilities and chronic and terminal illnesses. They do not feel that anything can help them so they give up. They may make efforts at the request of their loved ones but they don’t really believe these will come to anything.
