Mimulus
Mimulus guttatus
"Fear of worldly things, illness, pain, accidents, poverty, of dark, of being alone, of misfortune. The fears of everyday life. These people quietly and secretly bear their dread, they do not freely speak of it to others."
—Edward Bach, The Twelve Healers
This is a remedy for fears of all kinds, and in particular for fears of things that are known (as opposed to fear of the unknown). This can include the fear of animals, illness, death, and poverty, as well as typical phobias such as heights, snakes, and spiders. It is also used in social fears and anxieties, including those related to public speaking, going to an interview, the first day of school or a new job, or any other setting where one feels that they will need to “perform” in front of others and they feel scared, nervous or anxious about it.
